Understanding Suicidology
Institute for Research & Practice
The Research & Practice section
of Understanding Suicidology
exists because too much of what gets said about suicide
is either flattened into jargon or polished into something almost unrecognizable.
This part of the site is for trying to think more carefully.
It is a place for narrative theory, clinical insight, and Narrative-identity-centered care
to sit beside one another and do the harder work
of helping us understand the interior logic of suicidality
rather than just describing its surface.
It is meant for clinicians, researchers, educators,
and anyone trying to understand suicide
with more seriousness, compassion, and honesty.
Everything here is freely available and separate from the site’s paid consultation and training services.
You will find publications, clinical tools, and narrative models
that approach suicidality through theory, practice, and lived complexity,
along with open-access resources intended to support
reflection, education, and action.
